Our Purpose

HIMAST advocates the rights of individuals engaged in the legal mid and short-term rental sector, enabling them to play an active role in the tourism industry, thereby safeguarding tourism income within the state. The availability of diverse, locally-owned rental choices contributes to the generation of local employment opportunities, offers temporary and transitional housing solutions, boosts state and county tax revenues, all the while reinforcing housing stability and fortifying the economy.

Kelly Lee is a dedicated advocate for Hawaii's real estate industry. As the President of the Oahu Short Term Rental Alliance (OSTRA) and a Board Member of the Hawai'i Mid & Short Term Rental Alliance (HIMAST), she represents and champions the interests of property owners, managers, and small businesses within the accommodations sector across the Hawaiian Islands. With over 20 years of experience as a real estate professional on Oahu, Kelly brings a data-driven approach to understanding Hawaii's unique real estate market. Her focus on analyzing historical trends, current conditions, and future projections allows her to provide valuable insights and strategic guidance to industry stakeholders. A lifelong resident of Oahu, Kelly is deeply committed to her community. Her children attend local schools, and she actively engages in family activities, including outdoor movie nights and beach outings. Through her work with HIMAST, Kelly supports small businesses and local families, contributing to the vibrant fabric of Hawaii.
